About Us

The relay is organized by the Banff Jasper Relay society, a non-profit organization that has held this event since 2005. All the members of the society are volunteers, and there are no paid positions in the organization. The team is motivated by personal connections to the race and the Brain Tumour foundation of Canada. It’s a labour of love. The founding board started the race in memory of their Jasper to Banff team member Garth Huck who sadly fell victim to a brain tumour in 2004.
Mission
The Banff Jasper Relay is run to provide an opportunity for runners to discover and enjoy the team sport of relay running and to support the preservation and appreciation of Banff and Jasper National Parks while raising funds for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
